If you have tried a gluten-free diet, then you know it’s not a piece of cake. You know what makes a cake a cake. And you know it’s not sorghum flour, or tapioca flour, or garbanzo bean flour. It’s GLUTEN!
So, if you’re looking for inspirational stories about the joys of gluten-free living, you’ve come to the wrong place.

We are the Gluten-Free Bitches, and this blog is for everyone who’s sick and tired of the positive attitudes you find on most gluten-free blogs.
What you won’t find here are chipper recipes full of rice flour and guar gum. What you will find is humor, whining (some times known as wallowing), and two women who appreciate a cupcake and a cocktail. We’re trying to find a way to stay gluten-free and still get what we want. Grab a Martini and join us!

This blog is so pretty, I want to eat it. But I don’t have to. I can still eat bread. (sorry!) Can I eat yeast and still read your blog?
Hi Laura, yes, we are gluten freindly, but a tad sensitive about the bread so try not to rub it in our face, we might have an allergic reaction.
Ladies!
This blog is exactly what I’ve been looking for. All the gluten free bitches of America, hey, of Everywhere, have found a place to land.
Thank you!!!
Simi
I like the blog, sweet find. My girl friend suffers from the gluten as well, ill pass this site address to her. Keep up the good work!
Your blog is great. I live well gluten free, but it does get frustrating, so I can greatly appreciate the humor. 🙂
Woo-hoo! Sane people who just happen to be gluten free! I will say to my dying day that rice flour is awful and I won’t use it. I will continue to try and make edible gluten free goodies because I have to and I want them.
You’ve found a new follower! First of all, I don’t follow ANY blogs…including my own Mother’s…so that should give you an indication of how HAPPY I am to have found you.
Secondly, it’s not me who is gluten-free, but my 6yr old son. And not only is he gluten free, he is also allergic to garbanzo beans and peas – very common in the gluten-free world. So I have a few frustrations to vent 😉 And my final whine for this post is not actually gluten related but I feel like it’s a safe place to complain: my oldest son is dairy and egg free. Yup. It’s a challenge. Again, so happy to have found you today 🙂
Ladies, just discovered this blog and you’ve made my day! I’ve been Coeliac for just over 2 years now and am so sick of people telling me “that’s so cool! You must be really healthy!” as they tuck into a burger/slice of pizza/ cake/ pastry etc.
On a further downside, us Brits are a long way behind you as far as the Gluten-free Industry goes, with a majority of waiters not having any idea what you’re talking about when you ask “do you have any gluten free options?” – usually Steak or Salad- so i appreciate your rantings!
I am however, lucky enough to have an Aunt that lives in Jacksonville and will post me treats from http://www.mariposabaking.com/ (despite having tried most of the options in the supermarkets at home very little comes close to actually being edible!)
I would heartily recommend Mariposa, i cant say anything for the fresh baked goods as they wouldn’t make the journey but their Biscottis and Garlic Crostinis are a little slice of heaven in our Gluten Free World!
Happy to have found you :)!
I recently went to the Mariposa Bakerey in San Francisco. I was in heaven with all the choices. The cherry turnover was pretty tastey, at least for a girl who hasn’t had a cherry turnover in a long time.
Hi! Just discovered your blog via the Blogcademy’s Vancouver livestream. I recently started transitioning to gluten-free & can’t wait to read through all of your posts!
